FEDEMAC Position Papers
Position Papers enable FEDEMAC to provide coordinated facts and views on a particular subject/topic which is of interest or concern to the Moving Industry throughout Europe.
As such, Position Papers are an important part of FEDEMAC's ongoing lobbying and representation activities.
In addition to helping us deliver key messages to European officials, politicians, and decision makers, FEDEMAC Position Papers are important when liaising with other trade associations and organisations, public interest groups, non-government organisations, national authorities and other relevant parties. They also help to improve the awareness of FEDEMAC, its logo and its "raison d'etre" whilst, indirectly, leading readers to our website, newsletters, e-news bulletins and other forms of communication for further detail.
FEDEMAC is also signing joined Position Papers encourage by Mobility for Prosperity in Europe (MPE). MPE is a transport-related association formed in 2005. Acting as an independent forum, it gathers major transport stakeholders representing the interests of consumers, private and professional users, construction companies and infrastructure operators, vehicle manufacturers and logistics companies. FEDEMAC became in 2008 a member of MPE and, through its representative Tony Richman, currently holds the Executive Presidency position until the end of 2009. Please find attached (on the right also) the latest MPE Position Paper in response to the European Commission's consultation on 'The Future of Transport'.
In order to be effective, the Position Papers are updated from time to time to take into account the latest developments and discussions on the topic concerned. Separate ‘Press Releases’ may also be sent out to support our ‘Position’ or to highlight separate issues.
Whilst appreciating the need to be ‘newsworthy’ and timely, FEDEMAC's Position Papers are designed to have a reasonably long ‘shelf-life’ in order to make sure that the intended message has time not only to reach as many contacts as possible but also to create an important document for ongoing reference purposes at all levels.
Whenever feasible we also put forward or highlight the solution as well as the problem in order to strengthen our point whilst at the same time being as constructive as possible.
We are therefore very pleased to invite you to download all or any of our current Position Papers to more appreciate the main issues at present facing FEDEMAC and its Members throughout Europe on the political level.
FEDEMAC cordially also requests your contributions, suggestions and observations in order to enhance its campaigns and fuel healthy debate. Please contact us direct if you wish to put forward an opinion or any further comment in relation to any of the Position Papers listed.
