Parking sites on the trans‑European network

 

The project also included investments into four pilot parking sites on the trans‑European network, serving as a model and encouraging investors to develop such facilities. The handbook aims to help truck park operators develop their sites in line with the required security standards. It also acts as a focal point for information for other stakeholders, such as transport operators, drivers, shippers and national authorities interested in developing truck parks. In the pilot project, a secure truck parking site has been built near Valenciennes France) and investments to improve the security of existing rest areas have been carried out in Wörnitz (Germany), Ashford (United Kingdom) and Uhrsleben (Germany).
